15 Dec. 2023: book talk Sexual History Evidence and the Rape Trial

On Friday 15 December 2023; 12.00-13.15 (GMT)=13.00-14.15 (Dutch time), the Research Network for Culture, Law and the Body will host dr Yvette Russell (Associate Professor of Law and Feminist Theory), University of Bristol and prof. Joanne Conaghan (Professor of Law, University of Bristol Law School), who will discuss their recently published book Sexual History Evidence And The Rape Trial (published by Bristol University Press in October 2023). This book mounts an important interrogation into the use of a victim’s sexual history as evidence in rape trials. Adopting a critical multidisciplinary perspective underpinned by feminist theory, the authors explore the role and significance of sexual history evidence in criminal justice responses to rape.

This talk will take place online via MS Teams. Please send an email to Willemijn Ruberg (W.G.Ruberg@uu.nl) if you would like to receive the link to the online meeting.
